Adiel Kolman

Eyewitnesses said Adiel struggled with the terrorist before sustaining multiple stab wounds to his chest. He succumbed to his wounds a few hours later.

Adiel was a married father of four small children – the oldest is only nine years old. He also leaves behind his parents and six siblings. One of his sisters is scheduled to be married a month after the murder took place. He lived in Kochav Hashachar.

“He was a special child, very sensitive to others,” his mother said. “He is a wonderful and noble man. He would meet people on the street and tell them ‘Shabbat Shalom.’ Those people would light up inside.”

At his funeral, Israel’s Chief Rabbi David Lau said Adiel was headed home to watch his children and to prepare for Passover with his wife. “The Haggadah speaks of four sons. Now there are four children left, and who will answer them when they ask ‘Why is tonight different from all other nights?’ Where is the kind, caring, and loving father?”
