Shira Tzur

Shira Tzur, 20, was killed in a truck ramming attack in Jerusalem on January 8, 2017 along with three other soldiers. The group was waiting at an overlook at Armon Hanetziv when a heavy truck accelerated into the group.

She began her army service with the IAF’s pilot’s course but was later transferred to the Intelligence corps. She was a cadet at the officer’s training school at the time of the attack.

Shira, a native of Haifa, attended the Hebrew Reali School. Her principal, Mendi Rabinovich said she was an exemplary student with a strong sense of social justice. “She was a spirited girl, socially active and very loving. It is difficult to believe when we lose graduates.”

A friend of the family said her spirit will never be forgotten. “We’ll always remember her smiling, and looking ahead to the next challenge. Shira’s song will never be stopped.”
