Michael (Miki) Mark

Michael (Miki) Mark, 48, a father of 10, was killed in a drive-by attack on route 60 near Hebron on July 1, 2016. Miki was driving with his wife, Chava, in the passenger seat and two of their children in the back seat when they were hit by gunfire from a passing vehicle.

The family was traveling to Beit Hagai from their home in Otniel when they attack took place, about 10 miles south of Hebron. The gunfire caused the car to overturn, killing Miki and leaving Chava in critical condition with bullet wounds. Their daughter Tehilla, 15, also suffered bullet wounds, and their son, Pedaya, 14, sustained light injures.

Chava was rushed into surgery fighting for her life. Two days later, she regained consciousness.

Miki was the director of the rabbinic school in Otniel. His brother, Tzvi Mark, is a noted academic and a professor at Bar Ilan University. Chana’s sister lost a son in the shooting attack on the Merkaz HaRav yeshiva in 2008, and OneFamily has been assisting the family emotionally and financially for the past eight years.

Nine of the children attended the funeral. Only Tehilla was unable to attend because of her injuries. After giving their eulogies, the family went to the spot where the murder took place and said Kaddish for their father.
